getting around without car or bike

Post by Joshua Wood »

How does one get around without a car or motorbike? It's easy to walk about centre of town (railway tracks to the beach), and you can get a bus or green truck south to sport villa etc easily and cheaply (10b max I gather, I know the bus is 7b). But what about going to the other side of the tracks, such as the High School, for teachers? Taxis seem to want a stupidly high price to go only short distances, this certanly isn't economical. Renting a motorbike or car is also out of the question at the moment. Once settled maybe will purchase a motorbike.

So, is there any other way to get around that part of town cheaply and easily? Is there any place that rents bicycles?

Motorbike taxis, 10-20baht where ever you want to go. Alternatively buy a bicycle for 2,000 baht or so. Can't get much cheaper than that!
