Mercury Thermometer in HH?

Post by MrPlum »

From great world events to the small things that matter. HHAD is a gem. :thumb:

I bought a digital 'thermometer' in Tesco without being aware that it was only for checking human temperature. Outside the bodies normal range it reads 'high' or 'low'. A thermometer that doesn't actually give you the temperature is an advance?

Does anyone know where I can buy a mercury thermometer in HH?

I'm not sure those are even manufactured any more (not the oral ones anyway). I think they were banned in the U.S. years ago. I still have one that I protect like gold because I thought if it ever got lost or broken I could never find another one. It's around twenty years old!

I bought a thermometer on the ground floor of the shopping mall. It's a wall mounted one

Are you talking about a meat thermometer? They have a long spike with a round analogue thermometer on one end and you stick the spike in the meat to measure the temperature in the middle of a roast or turkey, etc. I'm sure they must have those here, maybe at Index.

You're right Caller! It's like an Abbot and Costello (Who's on first?) or a Monty Python routine! All you need is a couple of brain-dead old farts to make a humorous thread about anything! :D :D :D

This is getting funny. I need the thermometer to check the temperature of my home-made probiotic yoghurt drink.

Called 'Lassi'. :lach:

I've got the digital kind you stick in your ear. Assume you could really stick it into anything and get a reading? Pete
