Put a sensor in your watertank that will stop the pump automaticly when the level gets too low. Costs allmost nothing.

I got the very same good professional service until the chlorinator stopped working while still under warranty. Everything is great until a problem arises.

We have the last ten months now used GDL for two big jobs with house extensions and pool constructions in SIDA Tropical Villas. We are very satisfied with the work they have done so far...

I used GDL to replace a chlorinator 1 year ago. Very professionnal, good quality job, I was happy.

Last July, I asked the British lady who is working at GDL, Dawn, for a quoptation for the cleaning of my pool (emptying the pool, removing the calcium on the tiles, refilling of the pool) and she quoted 40 000 THB... 2 other companies in HH quoted me 9 000 ± 1 000 THB. I was really disappointed: this is the kind of pricing you make when you do not want the job :(

I guess they are not the only ones with interest...

Well it sounds like you have everything sorted with is brilliant but I have to agree, I cannot say one bad thing about the company, whenever I talk to any member of their staff I am satisfied. Different things happen to different people but I will certinatly not be needing any warning. I am More than happy to go back

Honestly, I was happy with their service: professionalism, speed of execution, quality of work performed, correct pricing, even if a bit more expensive than average. Right, I prefer to pay a bit more and have a professional service. I don't remember who said on this forum, "If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys" :)

This being said, I find their last proposal quite expensive: 4 times the average price in HH. When back in HH, I will check with GDL Pool if there is no misunderstanding on the work to be achieved...

if you want to remove calcium build up I would not suggest emptying the pool. Start by increasing the acidity and lowering the PH. This will allow the calcium to be loosened and will usually fall to the bottom of the pool. This can be removed permanently by vacuuming to waste. The use of hydrochloric acid along with some fairly fine waterproof sanding paper will remove any heavy deposits above/on the water line.
I would then ensure a suitable water softener is used when filling the pool.
Or buy ground water.
I have successfully "rescued" a pool that had not been run for more than a year without changing water.I have also battled hard deep well water for many years and managed to overcome calcium problems.

No interest what so ever, I havn't got a pool. If you read the context of my reply about rubbing their nose in it after what the OP went through then I think the company well deserved to be named and shamed. Too many scamsters in this town both thai and falang. Also the two posters with 2 posts between them coming on this particular thread to big up the company stinks of insider trading!

Up to you if you agree or not, better to let a company walk all over don't you think?

Jimmy,

If you have no first hand experience of dealing with GDL Pools, what gives you the right to judge?

I thought all the recent discussions were about increasing the quality of posts on the forum not downgrading the content with posts such as yours in this topic.

Rubbish. I don't need first hand experience to side with the OP in his actions of exposing a bad experience he had at GDL pool shop, if they had given good customer service then they would have done what he had to eventually do on his behalf. Forum members highlighting their good and bad experiences as consumers helps other members to be wary of certain establishments, that is not decreasing the quality of a post, on the contary it's very informative.

So I beg to differ on your reasoning

I completely agree with Malcom, who are you to judge? You have no right to side with anyone when you have not yourself experienced any business relationship with GDL.
Also, the main reason I felt the need to reply to this post is because of the several negative comments that first came ahead, insiders you say? well it seems several people in this post have some what personal issues with GDL.
Just because a person doesn't like fresh veg doesn't mean it's not good for you.
People have opinions and by all means have them but do not voice your opinion when in reality you are yet to earn it Jimmy.

Does it occur to you that different people might have different experiences with any/every company?
The OP had experienced some negative treatment from this company and had the guts to say so.
It's a good thing that other have positive experiences and remarks, (me included), but hey - calm down and accept the facts that Dawebo's history are what HE experienced and NOT all of you!!

JG's point about the new posters with under a couple of posts jumping in with a "laying it down" point is interesting.

Wonder where their IPs trace back to? :naughty:
