Shipping from USA

Post by migrant »

Thanks to some members here :thumb: I found some sources for shipping goods over when we move later this year

We have been weighing what to take vs shipping costs and believe we have that down. A pod with internal dimensions (inches) 83.75 x 44.75 x 81 (high) will suit us well, here is the question

The shipper offers 2 options

1) Ship to terminal $1,595
2) Ship to new home $2,675

So is it worth the extra $1,080 to ship down? (I'll be going to Bang Saphan, but experiences to HH will work please!)

The 2,675 option includes E-customs clearance (?), 7% VAT and delivery to residence

Thanks!

Door to door service was worth it for us because that also included packing and unpacking and removal of packing materials, but we had a full 40 foot container. Sounds like you are shipping a lot less so it may well be worthwhile to look at local options to deliver as they may be cheaper. Sounds like your container may even fit in the back of some pickups.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Echo HHFrang... We had. 40ft container also, they cleared customs for us, transported it, unloaded it, unpacked whatever we asked to be, setup/assembled stuff and were very helpful to our efforts... As far as packing materials, the locals will be more than glad to take it off your hands... I think the service and ease of the move the extra $$ is worth it.... Enjoy the moment instead of stressing it....
