Where to buy Uk to thai plug adaptors

Post by kev78 »

Got a few UK electricals and wondered where to get the adaptors so they fit thai plugs.

Tried big c with no luck.

Tesco Lotus, Home Pro, probably some 7/11s, Grand Market, probably night Market

Rather than individuals, which are probably (marginally..) harder to locate, look for multi socket adapters... all but the cheapest ones have sockets designed to take plugs from most countries, including the UK.

I got a 4 plug extension from Makro that has UK and Thai sockets combined, works brilliantly.

Try changing the plug from UK to Thai style, can get good quality Thai plugs in many DIY or electrical stores.

This is more for people building new houses, or capable of a bit of electrical DIY, but you can buy multi-purpose socket outlets that will accept UK or Thai plugs - when my house was built I installed these in our kitchen because I was bringing in a number of electrical appliances fitted with UK type plugs - I bought them at Thai Watsadu.

You can fit these quite easily in place of uk plug, no need for adapters which can give loose fitting connections. Unless you are taking the item back to the UK.

make sure the cheap night market adaptors have a real ground connection, not just a hole for the ground lug.

^^ Make sure the socket you are plugging your newly adapted appliance into has an earth/ground in the first place. Even if the socket wiring shows an earth/ground cable, there's no guarantee that's where it goes!
