Thai Mail - Posting documents to Europe
Hello,
does anyone know if Thai Mail offers a "safer" mode to post
documents to Europe than mere 'registered mail'?
Thanks for your info!
Hope everyone is ok!
Take care!

I've sent important stuff before by EMS and it worked really well. You can track the package at numerous steps of the delivery process right up to when it's signed for in the UK.
Re: Thai Mail - Posting documents to Europe
I echo the above. I've sent many many documents to the UK at about 1,000 bt a go by EMS. Never had a problem and as has already been said, it's trackable. The way to go.
Re: Thai Mail - Posting documents to Europe
We tend to use something called Long Tabien (that's my spelling, which may not be correct), which is about 1/10 of the cost. Never had a problem, and still traceable all of the way through.

Expedited mail?
Is there a possibility of sending mail faster than just air mail? (Other than Email!Lol)
Thanks!

Sent some stuff via FedEx recently. Bangkok delivered to an office in York, UK in 3 days. BUT, it cost nearly as much as a cheap air ticket!
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
Re: Thai Mail - Posting documents to Europe
Yes. Registered mail (or long tabien as BB said above). This takes about a week to 10 days to UK, and you can track it. More expensive but also much faster is EMS, also trackable.MajorBloodnok wrote:Expedited mail?

Never had problem sending with Reg. air mail or EMS. It's safer than some EU countries, UK, and others........

Courage is grace under pressure and when circumstances change you change your mind.
Re: Thai Mail - Posting documents to Europe
An old thread, but very relevant
For years, I have had no problems. On 15th December I tried to send some important stuff by EMS. The Post Office said because it was a PO Box in the UK, the best they could offer was Long Tabien. As I've said further up the page it is a lot cheaper. I accepted.
My letter seems to have become trapped at Suvarnabhumi.
Translated to English:
We went to the Post Office today to find out what was happening. They showed us the above phone screen and basically said, not their problem.
Does anybody know how to make any sort of claim when you've paid for the Long Tabien service?

Re: Thai Mail - Posting documents to Europe
Surprised they accepted it for recorded delivery as it's going to a PO box.
You could try Thai Post contact centre on 1545.

Thank you, that looks great.
They originally accepted it for EMS, and charged over 2,000฿. They then phoned and asked to go back, where they downgraded it to Long Tabien, which I'm assuming is Recorded Delivery for 200฿, which seemed to be a bargain.

Long tabien strictly translates as registered but I tend to use 'recorded' as meaning the same thing.Big Boy wrote:Thank you, that looks great.
