Getting rid of an old mattress

Post by sateeb »

Hi guys. The time has come to replace my old knackered mattress. Does anyone know if places like Mattress City, Index or Home Pro will take the old one away for disposal?
Thanks in advance.

Yes they will. I think you organise it when you make the new purchase.

Any updates on buying a new mattress and disposing of the old one? I haven't visited Mattress City but it seems the logical place to visit first. Thank you.

Big Kiang, Index, Mattress City, Homepro, Bluport... all (probably) have removal service. It pays to shop and compare.

I recently dismantled an unwanted mattress, stripped the 'flock' off it and use bolt cutters to cut up the wire cage, then gradually fed it into garbage and recycle bins. Not a hard job but time consuming. Won't do it again but I had no way of transporting it away.

Couldn't help but recognizing in parts of that the rhythm of this well known (to Yanks of a certain age) line of dialog in a comedy movie. Link starts at a second before the line is delivered twice.
