Buying Cigars in Hua Hin

Post by PeteB »

Hi Guys,

I don't post very frequently these days, but would appreciate some advice regarding availability and cost of King Edward Cigars - both Imperial and Coronets please. I will be back in HH in just under 2 weeks (Yes, U/S, I know it's less than 2 months since I came back to UK).

Thanks for your help

Peter

Don't know that particular brand but the store on the road towards the beach, same road that the police station is on, carries many cigar brands. The store is a few doors up from the intersection where the Centara is.

Sorry don't know the names, perhaps someone else does, but the store carries a decent selection of Falang oriented items

Thanks migrant,

I think that you mean mean the "Supermarket" on the RH side heading for Centara corner from the Police Station.

Yes they do stock cigars, but King Edward are always a problem.................

Cheers

The intercontinental used to have a cigar shop that sold many different brands including Cuban cigars.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Thanks for the hint hhfarang. I've never been inside the Intercontinental - perhaps this will persuade me to do so!

I always think of grossly inflated prices for stuff bought inside a major hotel though.....

Cheers

I've bought cigars in the major hotels, not Intercontinental. and they do tend to charge a premium for them, but all cigars in Thailand are expensive!! Good luck, let us know what you find

I think I've seen King Edward cigars in the old Hua Hin shopping mall supermarket opposite Wat Hua Hin. I don't smoke so don't know what variety they would be.

^ No sorry. I just picked up the photo off the internet to give people an idea if they should spot a cigar place while out and about. All I've ever seen here in the East are Cubans and Belgians.

Somewhere on here is a cigar thread where I think people had their brand mailed in. That may be your only option, or spend a day searching Bangkok, or head for Hong Kong. Pete

Hi Pete

Thanks.. I will be flying back from UK next weekend. Can always buy at LHR, but looking (as always) to save a few pounds/baht - especially with the crap exchange rate.

Cheers

Just to wrap up the topic, you can indeed obtain King Edward cigars at the supermarket just up from Hagi corner. Believe it or not I was unable to buy at London Heathrow. Thanks for those who offered help and tips. Now to enjoy some RnR in Hua Hin.
Cheers

Migrant is the forum cigar aficionado. Next time he's on I'm sure he'll have some current info.
