Hammock for a hefty porker

Post by MLS »

I'd like to take a hammock back to the UK for my friend, as he fondly recalls lolling in one for a couple of hours on a beach holiday in Thailand a few years ago. I think it might have been one of those colourful stringy nylon(?) ones I saw in markets a few years ago. Thing is, I guess he weighs at least 17+ stone, so do you reckon this is worth pursuing? I'm hoping a strong hammock, with sturdy fixings (which he's capable of sorting), would cope with his bulk. Any advice, and have you seen any for sale around Hua Hin? Thanks!

I'm around the same weight (105 kilos) which I'm not proud of. However these 'colourful stringy things' hold me okay. The fixings have to be good though.
There's a shop on the railway road on the left (the railway side) a little before the 'crazy roundabout' that sells them in all colours.

Thank you! I'll trundle down there. (And I hope I didn't come across as judgmental about larger bodies - nothing wrong with carrying a bit of weight for sensible reasons, like beer and good food.)
