Hi Bluesky
Thanks for your reply. What I am looking for is a piece of 1.1m x 60cm.
I need it to cover a hole underneath my pool pump, which is currently sitting on a steel frame which is very badly rusted, hence the request for aliminum.

Not sure if he still has it, but the big stainless steel shop opposite the airport used to stock some. Or he will know where to get it.

I think there is a sheet metal supplier in Pranburi on the main road. If you can wait a few days I will try to confirm for you. As a thought for your application a couple of alternatives worth considering may be a piece of 'hot dipped' gal steel checker plate (not electroplated) or stainless. You may possibly continue to have corrosion issues with Aluminium depending on the quality of the alloy and the environment it is to be installed in.

I could not find Aluminum plate thick enough but found Stainless Steel up by the airport as suggested by Nereus but at the price of over 7000 bht for a piece of 100 cm x 60 cm I abandoned that idea and back filled the area firstly by packing almost a whole roll of bubble wrap around the pipework and filling the void I was trying to bridge and then laying about 10 cm concrete over the top for the pump to sit on.
By first filling the pit with bubble wrap it allows me if needed at a later date to access the pipework by simply breaking the surface of the concrete.

sorry repeated
I have found that SS in Hua Hin is very expensive and the quality can be dubious, so hope your solution works

The stainless steel place by the HH airport is primarily a fabricator, not a supplier. So not cheap for supplies but if you want somthing built they do good work at a reasonable price.

Best place I have found to buy stainless is Pranbury. Short distance beyond the last traffic light, going south. On left side, you will see a tree on the sidewalk. They have everything - shapes, tube, decorative castings, hose clamps that are 100% stainless including the screw. That is all they do is sell all sorts of s/s. When buying s/s always take along a magnet.

A couple doors after the s/s supplier is a door and window fabricator with a large inventory of aluminum. But not sheet or plate. Approximately across the street is a steel supplier that includes a huge warehouse full of stuff in the back.

We seem to be looking more and more to Pranbury for our needs. Generally cheaper, no traffic jams, and now that Global house is there that is another incentive for going south.
