Filing cabinet required

Post by thebears »

Does anyone know where I can obtain a good quality filing cabinet, i.e. not one of the Thai-style pink/green/violet-coloured items? Thanks.

I know the store locations are in Bangkok (Bagna or Bang Yai), the units that are sold come from PRC, and some products do not tolerate being disassembled a second time, but have a look at IKEA.
I have a couple of these 3 draw filing cabinets and they have been fit for purpose. They use to be grey/white finish, have lockable draws and safety system to only allow one draw to be opened at once. See link below
https://www.ikea.com/th/en/catalog/prod ... #/30341007
Also have search of around on the general internet as we have found some IKEA stuff available to order and have delivered on line.

Thanks, I'm surprised I haven't heard of Big Kiang before, as I note from other posts that it is something of a local institution. One of them mentions that Big Kiang is in Cha-am, though I'm not sure where.

Thanks, it doesn't look too bad, I must admit. Is it made of chipboard?

Depending where you live, there’s a BK in Hua Hin just up from the corner of Soi 88 heading towards the railway on your right. The one towards Cha Am is before you reach the new Court building ( a big impressive white building) it’s on the left side of Petkasem road about two thirds the distance between HH and CA. In both cases, if they don’t offer a discount, just ask.

The IKEA 3 draw filing cabinet is made of the finest PRC steel and looks to have a power coated finish. Another bonus, these units can be disassembled and put back together many times without screw and dowel pin holes getting enlarged. These units use to also come with file hanger rails that can be fitted to the top of each draw.

BTW, I keep hearing about Big Kiang but have no idea exactly where it is located. Any offer of directions and perhaps a GPS reference.

Thanks in advance on the BK question.

Big Kiang is just up the road from Power Buy or over the level crossing from Soi88 towards Phetkasem Rd on left opposite the Catholic Church

Big Kiang are also on the Hua Hin - Huay Mongkol Road just before the bend at the junction with the Khlong Road at Pae Mai.
