Morning bushwhacker
What type of fire extinguisher is it, and the agent that is used.
Would it be possible to insert a picture of the subject unit within your post to help find an expert on this subject.
Does the unit have any pressure gauge, or possibly a charge pressure testing button incorporated to be able to check the need for servicing.
However, in these days of environmental protection and the safety consideration on the reliance of any fire extinguisher to work and effectively do its job when you need it to work, personally, I would always go for a new unit in the case of any doubt. Furthermore, around many airports I have attended and witnessed so many fire service demonstrations where even their frequently used training extinguishers occasionally run out of charge pressure or agent before the fire is out, have fallen apart when the firing trigger is activated, or have safety pins secured in place with substantial nylon cable ties. I guess it all comes down to the same old story, buy wise, buy only reputable products and follow the OEM servicing and routine inspection instructions to keep them in good working order. Also don’t use or keep any extinguisher ready for use beyond any displayed expiry date or outside any gross weight limits.

Rapid Response!Thank you.
These are dry chemical for A & B class fires.
I keep them around the house 'just in case' but carry them whenever we are going to have a BBQ, Bonfire or a Guy Fawkes event in 'the hash'.
I bought them second hand but charged (They have guages) and they work fine until empty.

Usually the extinguisher will have some manufacturers information on it and you could perhaps source a recommended service agent from this source. The ones in places like Market Village or in hotels etc will have a tag indicating when they were last serviced and again, perhaps an address or contact details of the service agent. A good extinguisher will have etched into the body its age and, if applicable, pressure test dates. I am not sure but you may be able to get refills for some at places that sell new units like Thai Watsadu. If you can get the refills then it is easy to do most except carbon dioxide which would need to be done at an approved station. Some use a small CO2 cylinder for charge pressure and can be serviced easily. Stored pressure extinguishers using air pressure that usually have a gauge need careful inspection and should be pressure tested at regular intervals.
It may be cost effective to just replace an extinguisher if you only have limited numbers.
Sorry I can't point you in the direction of a service agent but hope the above is helpful. There is lots of information on servicing yourself online. If in doubt, replace with a new one.

Take it to the fire station! They will either do it, or know where to go.

Hi Team
While on the subject of fire extinguishers, has anybody used or had experience with the new breed of nano particle products that are now being offered. Just for general interest take a look at www.firepal.co.uk
