Where to buy a safe in Hua Hin?

Post by seasides »

Anyone got a clue, apart from Bluport Powermall?

Is there a hardware or furniture store in Hua Hin selling a good old safe to store valuables?

Thanks for feedback!

Homepro, Thai Wasadu (Cha-Am), Global House (Pranburi). Possibly Big Kiang.

Hi All
I have seen possibly the biggest range within Thai Wasadu. Unfortunately I fell into an impulse purchase from Homepro before visiting the former store and our unit is now just about coping with what I wish to stuff inside. Having said that the Homepro unit is well made and has electronic PIN as well as key backup should the batteries go flat. Rev

Cool, thanks both, on the way to Thai Wasadu!

Trying to avoid an electronic model as you never know when you run into battery issues...

I think the first question you need to ask is, who do you want to keep your valuable safe from. Are you concerned about members who live in your home, and/or visitors, or are you concerned about being burgled?

If it the latter, then the small safes which many local places sell are pretty much pointless because any thief could simply pick it up and walk away with it.

You should bolt your safe to the wall and/or floor with concrete anchors. And the safe design should be so there is no gap at all between the back or floor of the safe and the surface it's fixed to (so as to make it difficult to lever away from the surface). Don't buy a safe that doesn't have holes for fitting (unless you aren't going to fix it into place).

I have a small safe like the one in bsdk1960's video. It's not removable without breaking the very solid wall it's fixed to. But because of low quality (thin metal casing) it moves just a millimeter or two when hit hard on the top, and after a few tries and experimenting with timing, I opened it by the method shown in the video.
