Fly out on the 13th December for 6 weeks.

Will be the first Xmas my little lad will really get the idea of Christmas.

I quite enjoy watching the Football and seeing how bad the weather is and sending picture messages back home of us chilling and having a beer in the sun.

I will arrive in Hua Hin on the 3 January for one week, and will stay at Peter and Jings, then i will go up to my house in Surin and will return to Hua Hin 24 January for 3 days.
Between going to the beach and having a couple of days at Hua Hin Fishing lodge, i will be having a very big drink, as my wife is pregnant so it will be more than one year before we return.
So if any of you cool HHAD forum members fancy a good wet i am bang up for it. :D

Hey Baabaa, how much do you normally pay for a flight in mid December(if you don't mind me asking)?
I wondered because i normally fly out on around the 5th,6th of dec all due to the fact it goes up £100 or so due to the fact its christmas.(or so mr travel agent tells me) I normally pay around the £450 mark, going up to £550-£600 if i go anytime after somewhere around the 8th of december. I know your a seasoned traveller and you'd know the cheap way around it!! :D

You've been doing better than me at them rates mate. Who do you fly with? I have always flown with Emirates from Manchester and I'm happy to pay around the £600 mark at that time of year, your agents bang on with his dates although it seems to get a week earlier every year.

I've changed to Qatar for this trip as Emirates have changed the way the frequent miles work (basically halfed the miles) it's annoying as Emirates have always been good with free upgrades but Qatars frequent flyer has a few more perks.

So I would've normally flown around The 5th but Qatar was the same price upto the 13th which suited better date and work wise. £613. Going out late Dec and going back early Jan is the the killer expense wise.

It's looking like a fair few of us will be there around the end of October, and another batch early in the New Year then.

Would the Mods care to fix a couple of dates for HHAD gatherings somewhere central like JWs perhaps? That way we avoid trying to make a load of individual arrangements

We've done this before and in recent years they have fallen into the lead balloon category. Four to five years back things were different and we had some good rave-ups.

Suggest you start a new thread and make your own arrangements, agree on a date and venue sometime towards the end of October then people are not obliged either way, if any mods are about at the time I'm sure we'll rock up also!

Okey dokey Buksi will do - once the Travel Booking Guru has found me something a tad cheaper than a scary £800 KLM jobby!

Whatever happened to travelling with Oman Air - they still had competetive fares when I looked a week ago?
