Someone asked me the other night what had happened to them. Obviously I know they returned to the UK some years ago. Her column in the observer kind of vanished a while back.
Many of you will not know whom I am talking about however those of you who knew them will never forget them for vairious reasons. Thats whot HUa Hin misses characters like them.
Mags & Billy.
I was in fairly regular contact with Maggie until about 6 months ago - must get round to sending her another "update from HH".
The last I heard, Billy had had his medical problem diagnosed and was receiving the correct treatment and improving.
Mags is back at work - social stuff I think.
I know Billy was attacked a while ago by a tenant in their house. He had his leg broken by an iron bar!!! He's fine now and the assailant was referred to a mental institution for assessment.
They always threaten to return and I agree with you, gooze, it would be good to see them again.
I've got Maggie's email address and she does check her mail and answer. PM me if you'd like it.

Nuthouse or prison are possibly the only places I could afford to live in in UK but I hear now there is a waiting list! Get your prison sentence and then told to wait 3 months for a vacant cell. Sounds like the NHS!!!

Mags and Billy
Hi all its Mags - thanks Gooze for you concern! Yes as Buksida says we came back to England 3 years ago because of Billys health. After a year of tests it was found that he had suffered several small strokes, which accounted for the inability to stand up, especially after a Singha or 2!
Billy was never one to moan about his health, so a lot of people wouldn't realise that he was also epileptic and had a badly shattered knee.
Last May, as Lomuamart says, he was attacked by a guy who had flipped and took a crowbar to Billy and one of the other tenants where we lived, breaking Billys good leg. The guy has pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing. Not a pleasant experience though when you are attacked out of nowhere while asleep in bed.
So we have moved to North Lincs. I do voluntary work in Hull a couple of days a week, helping people with Benefits claims, which is what I did before moving to Thailand. My column in the Observer is back on a regular basis now, but was interupted by events last year, and for a while in 2006 when I had to have a hysterectomy. I was hoping we could get back to HH this month for a few weeks but have had to put the trip on hold for a while. We both still have hospital appointments to work around, but determined to get a bit of sun and catch up with old mates. Cheers, Mags x
