Please accept our sincere apologies for the 12 hour outage and any possible data loss, we are still in the dark as to what happened.

Apparently the hosting company decided to transfer to a new server, evidently something went seriously wrong. We are still investigating.

A lsuggestion, when this sort of potential problem is going to happen, announce it beforehand.

I expect they would have, if they'd known...

Of course we would have announced it had we have known the site would be down for the best part of a day. We had no warning ourselves and still don't know what happened.

There were announcements and updates on our Facebook page.

The face book announcement came in handy! When I couldn't access the forum I was wondering why, then the explanation! Thanks!

Forum problems?

Post by dtaai-maai »

Extremely slow connection to the forum and not a single new post in over 12 hours - is the forum having problems or has this just been a remarkably quiet night?

We find ourselves again apologizing for a server outage, fortunately it happened during our low traffic period over night. The site is live now but very slow so there are still problems - we have yet to hear an explanation from our hosting/server company.

Thanks for your patience, it is as frustrating for us as it is for you.

I realise it's not in Admin's hands, but it's taking an inordinate amount of time to sort out - how many 'occasional' members will stop bothering to try to log in?

We are preparing to transfer the site to another server so unfortunately there will be more downtime.

Apologies in advance.

Another website (hh classifieds) on the server was hacked - shocking that it took almost 3 days for them to rectify the problem but all seems to be functional again now.

We will update on the impending hosting transfer shortly.

All is back for me over here in the east. First time in 48 hours. Loading speed is good also. Pete

We find ourselves AGAIN humbly apologising for today's six hour outage.

We are waiting for an explanation from our hosting providers.

Update: our hosting company has been largely ignoring us, claiming they are 'working on it' but in fact doing nothing.

They are also blaming the software and customer (as usual) so as an emergency precaution we have temporarily disabled Tapatalk.

An emergency server transfer will be initiated, unfortunately this will entail further disruptions.

Thanks for bearing with us during these testing times.
