I periodically keep seeing a Samsung phone slightly bigger than my 5.5 inch cubot note S that the lady owners (!) tell me is about 10000 bht ish. What phone would that be? I assume it's a 6 inch screen, I googled it and thought it was J7 but that says 5.5 inch? And where could I get one that's used but good? Thanks

I'm still using an older, 2008 version, purchased at the airport in Sydney, Au. I've replaced the battery once and it still works fine but then all I do is make an occasional call, store numbers and receive an occasional call. I don't need to be connected to the world every waking hour so I have no use for a "smart" phone. a dumb one will do. I quit school when I were 12 years old and today I are a genius.

Anybody thinking of getting one of these 3310s beware; they only support 2G so will not work with most mobile networks over here.

I have a Nokia 108 which is similar and I don't have a problem with it in Thailand, it's dual SIM and I use it with UK Vodafone in one and a True tourist SIM in the other and I can use them both for calls and SMS messages around the Hua Hin area.

Perhaps True still have 2G support. I know AIS and I think also DTAC no longer support it.

Yes, you're right! I've just looked this up and True acquired the rights to 2G coverage last year:

We still have an old Nokia 1600 using 2G on DTAC.

If your looking for an industrial quality Mobile Catapillar have the Cat S60 on the market reasonably waterproof (can be used to take pics underwater) and comes with a good thermal Imager. Is available now in Thailand.

I love it! Would make me feel like Bear Grylls or maybe 007.
You could fight your way to the bargains with it today too (Black Friday). :)

It depends what you want the phone to do, other than send and receive calls. Are photos important to you, endless apps, speed, etc. Pick a price range and read reviews by pros and users. par ex: Google, Best smart phones under $.

That's obvious, I was just responding to the unusual nature of the phone that Bluesky posted. I would never buy it because I want my phone to do everything, including make the tea for me in the morning! :)
