Did AIS actually tell you that these channels carry live EPL? I'm pretty sure they don't. At least the ones on Hua Hin cable don't. And their schedules don't show any. https://tv.foxsportsasia.com. You can enjoy bundesliga live though.

I'll find out on Saturday :D . I told them that's what I wanted, and in the days of 365 Sport they often used the channels. At the half time pundits, as crap as they are, speak in English.

I understand and sympathise with the problems BB has been having but I personally have not had any problems with the billing system and maybe it's also the phenomenon of always wanting to justify/validate your own choices, however I still think the deal offered by True to new Internet service subscribers is an attractive one.

It depends how you look at it but assuming that you were already willing to pay 799 Baht a month for a fast, fibre optic Internet service anyway (which includes a free TV subscription) you can effectively get full HD coverage of all EPL games - plus La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue Un and UEFA competition games, for an additional 199 Baht a month. There's no freezing, no buffering and the games are always guaranteed to be available - unless your connection goes out, which has only happened a couple of times in the 8 months I've had the service and never at a time when there were games on.

Well guys, of course my installation wasn't smooth, but TIT. Also the staff in MV weren't as transparent as they might have been. I now know that MV is little more than a bill payment centre, and the main office is Bluport. Anybody thinking of switching should use Bluport - no criticism of MV, but my order was 'improved' by Bluport. They'll be putting it right next Thursday.
(FFS, when you want to buy something in this country, why do the assistants think they know what you want more than you do yourself?)

I'm well pleased with the product so far.

Saturday and Premier League football will be the next test. However, if it isn't there, Hua Hin City are playing again from this weekend and I've got Plymouth Argyle on iFollow. I can survive without the prima donnas. After True's attitude once I'd proved I was being overcharged, there was no way I could even contemplate staying with them.

To give some sort of closure to this. When I went to cancel the other day, I was told I'd have to return to True today (the day the bill was due) with the Internet box. We had a phone call yesterday, telling us to do it on the 10th (that would be a day into the next billing period - how daft do they think I am?).

We took the box back this morning, and I paid what I owed, plus the extra for the service I'd never had (OK, I'm that stupid, but I want shot of them, and don't like owing anybody). The girl asked why we were leaving - easy answer because you're overcharging me.

She then said she could reduce my bill by 10% with immediate effect if I stayed. I had no intention of staying, but asked if that would be 10% of what they were charging now, or 10% of what they should be charging? It was 10% of the incorrect cost, which made me laugh.

Before we left she said there would be one more payment. I explained that she'd just charged me for closure. Oh no, you will receive a bill by post for about 10 more days TV :? . I wasn't going to argue, and told her the reason I was leaving was because they could not send out bills, so I very much doubted I would receive that bill. I offered to pay there and then, just to get shot of them, but she insisted it had to come by post.

You were correct. However, now the Thai football season has resumed, I can live without PrimaDonna League, and I also get my real footie fix with Plymouth Argyle.

So I was mis-informed at the time of purchase, but I've got some pretty cool TV now, with even better Internet, and it's a lot cheaper. If I miss it too much, I might even try HD Prime to see if it's any better on my superfast Internet.

Basically, True have knocked the stuffing out of me, and I can't be arsed to argue any more. They're still badgering me, saying I have to pay for their TV until the end of February. I tell them they've cut it off, but that seems to make little difference. I think my original opinion of them was probably very close to the mark.

Aren't EPL broadcast rights for next season up for auction soon? I've read that Amazon and Netflix, among others, are interested, so who knows how it could swing next year. Maybe True will lose out again. Even if Bein win the Asia rights again they might not necessarily sell Thailand rights to True.

BB, you mentioned elsewhere that you have a Chromecast - have you considered beIN Sports Connect?

I hadn't looked into this before as I'm happy with what I have but having done so, I found it is only 199 Baht a month and according to lots of people who use it, gives reliable, HD quality streaming on Android and iOS devices or via the Google Chrome browser (assuming you have a good internet connection) and also supports Chromecast.

It not only includes all 6 beIN Sports channels but according to their website, also has a catch-up feature and beIN Sports Extra which gives you additional, live games that don't fit on the 6 'regular' channels.

BB, since HDPrime did a complete revamp around 10 days ago, I haven't been able to find fault. There is now catch-up on all TV channels including all the movie channels. Movies and series work fine.

HHT I agree that the revamp has considerably improved viewing with HDPrime.
As a matter of interest do you find that particular servers are best for particular Channels. I find ThaiA good with the beIN channels and no freezing. However I use Sky a lot and do not seem to be able to find which of all the servers is best. From your experience have you found any that particularly gel well? I use the Chrome Browser

My wife changes the server to Thai A when she's watching Thai TV and I tend to use Europe A for my programs. Although I've sometimes forgotten and found watching the UK channels on Thai A seems to work just as well.
In the main I watch ITV, BBC, UK Gold, Sky movie channels amongst others. I'm not a sports fan so I rarely watch any of the sport channels.
Generally I watch most things on catch-up which hasn't worked for some time but is now 'almost' perfect.

HaHa, one at a time please.......................

Before I start, what a pleasure it was paying my bill on the 9th. It dropped through the letter box a couple of days before payment was due, it was fully transparent with everything listed. Money paid and received with smiles.
BB, you mentioned elsewhere that you have a Chromecast - have you considered beIN Sports Connect?
Firstly the Chromecast - whilst other devices connect no problem, my laptops connect when they feel like it. However, I'd never heard of beIN Sports Connect - it sounds worth exploring, and I can still connect with an HDMI lead if Chromecast doesn't want to play. Thank you.
BB, since HDPrime did a complete revamp around 10 days ago, I haven't been able to find fault.
I've been reading such remarks, but I have 2 close friends, one living on Emerald and one living in Wijitra, so opposite ends of town. Both have very good Internet connections. They are both very critical of the upgrade, and say HDPrime shouldn't have bothered. I don't know, but my friends have no reason to lie.
I'm not a sports fan so I rarely watch any of the sport channels.
I am, so if I were to consider it, it all that I would use it for. Teatime is every bit as good as Expat TV for regular UK TV, and is free. I've actually suggested to my son that now that our Internet speed has more than doubled, it might be worth considering HDPrime again, but we had so many bad experiences, he just won't contemplate it.

When I press Submit, I'm going to Google beIN Sports Connect - sounds a interesting option.

Wow!!! Only 199 Baht/month - thank you very much GroveHillWanderer, exactly what I need. If I subscribed to HD Prime, it would only be for the footie. I'll report back on whether it works in a few weeks.
