Palm Bistro Sunday roast
4 of us had a really nice Sunday lunch at Palm Bistro yesterday.
We shared a couple of starters, chicken liver pate and tempura king prawns - delicious.
The 2 blokes had roast beef and the ladies had poached sea bass (which they loved - rare praise indeed from Mrs D-M). The beef was terrific, the roast tatties good and the veggie selection with white sauce was excellent.
The only disappointment was the Yorkshire pud, which was leathery - probably pre-cooked, frozen and microwaved. It may be more practical to pre-cook it, but frankly it's not worth the effort. If the customer is having a starter, there should be enough time to cook it fresh.
The apple crumble dessert was also delicious!
We had a round of British beers and then decided to sample a couple of the American craft beers, 'Dead Guy'
and another one - not really to our British pub educated taste, but served in very fetching jam jars!
Haven't been there for a couple of years - not cheap, but well worth the effort.
