I'm just back from Hua Hin Tesco, and there are still plenty of boxes on display (didn't look at the price).

Must be just an ordering problem at our local Tescos then. It's really badly run - lots of empty shelves and racks, and a carpark full of trollies scattered everywhere.

Re. the new price. Our local wholesale lady cut half the box away to remove the date of manufacture, and scratched the date from the labels of every bottle. She then charged new price for obviously old-priced stock. Did she really think that we wouldn't notice? :? If she'd left the boxes and bottles unharmed, I wouldn't have known...

My understanding was that local beers would not increase in price due to alcohol content not being high enough to need producers to pay more tax?

As no-one has argued with me I presume that I'm right for once! Or am I just off topic? :naughty:

404cameljockey My all time favorite local brew is Beer Singha and always have a four pack handy in chiller at home , when I go out to bars I enjoy the odd Tiger which I think is imported though not sure though , however both are 5% alcohol by volume....Which is more or less standard..

^^ Tiger is brewed here in Thailand by Asia Pacific Breweries (Heineken Pacific Breweries now I think). It's on the label.
