Hua Hin Hills Vinyard

Post by Siani »

I do not read much about the Hua Hin Vineyard on the forum. Does anyone know about it? Is the wine good?

I went once and tasted all the wines and only one was to my liking (but that one was quite good). Lunch was very good and sitting outside overlooking rolling hills and vineyards was very pleasant surroundings, but it wasn't cheap.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Thanks for the link to the thread. It does seem a bit disappointing. Maybe it has improved since then hopefully. I saw a large sign on the corner of the street in HH when I was there. Was it expensive does anyone know?

It sounds lovely, also from the website looks good. I think it will be worth a visit. Does anyone grow grapes at home? :)

I had two lots of friends stay over Christmas and New Year. Took both parties to the vineyard for lunch.

Well worth the drive and very pleasant. If of interest they have a couple of Elephants that do rides through the vineyard, good for kids or if you have never done it before.

Food well presented. Not being a wine drinker cannot comment on quality.

On way home stopped off at Black Mountain Golf club for a few drinks.

It can make a nice day away from the usual.

Sounds lovely, I will go when I get out there. We tried to find it last time, only briefly, but failed, we kept coming back on the same road, going around in circles! :D

We have been there with friends at december 28 in 2010.

Absolut beautiful day, nice view, very good food, and the wine also great, we tasted all, the white, rose, and the red.

The red is very heavy for the noon, taste excellent, we took only one bottle, the white is very fresh, perfect to seafood, also one bootle, and the rose (they call white Shiraz if i remember right) is so great, we enjoed four bootles.
3 Men and 3 Women and a driver all day food and drinks, coffee etc. was 6300 Baht.

We will repeat next time, we are in Thailand, and for 6 people its worth to make a reservation, we waited about 30 minutes for a table.

I highly recommend a visit to the Hua Hin Vineyard. It took about an hour to get there but was well worth the trip. It is a lovely place with a good menu, quite inexpensive really. Fabulous smoothies for those that do not feel like trying the vino. Really good food. The view from the restuarant is stunning. I will go there again soon :)

Only disappointment is that winery is located in Samuit Sackon (spelling?) and not at the vinyard. Beautiful location on the hillside with restaurant located on hill overlooking vinyards. Not like visiting PB in KaoYai where you can take a tour of the winery.

How much time should we allow for trip to vinyard. Is it a full day? How busy is the restaurant. I noticed the recomendation to book. Will be there in August. Is it likely to be busy at that time

Hi
Allow plenty of time, but maybe fit in another trip on the way out or back. Maybe plan to go for lunch, it is really nice. Take some Mozzie spray! 8)

Took a couple of visitors from NZ while I was up in HH a few months ago. They seemed to like some of the wines, food was good too. For 4 of us - including a couple of beers and a few wines for 3 of us, I think around 3500 baht. Location elevated and affords a good view down the valley, building is interesting and has nice "spaces" for tables looking out over the balconies. If it's starts to get windy/rainy the staff roll down some effective clear plastic blinds that seem to work well and not spoil the view

All in all a pleasant afternoon, visitors went on a ride on khun chang around the vineyards, we chatted and just took in the view for a few hours. Discerning visitors were happy (phew!!!)
