Why go out to pay 3 times the price of eating at home, when you must build your own breakfast?
I've always found that Lin's does a really good hale & hearty English breakfast and I don't think you could buy the raw ingredients for the money they charge and cook it yourself (why would you want to anyway), so don't know what this "...3 times the price..." nonsense is.

I think Frog wrote previously that he does not want American or English breakfast....so not interesting for him really.
I agree with you Aragon, it is nice sometimes to go out for breakfast. For me, meet up with friends for a brunch, especially a little sunshine and a good view if you can get it

Bobbys also sells tasty packs of bacon, sausage and ham from the freezer.
Bobby's is a great little bar & eatery! and they find some unique ways to feed you... look at the thread on their sunday lunch, and yes in their case there is such a thing as a free lunch.

Plus, you can always reverse the question; why cook at home when you can go out and still get exactly the breakfast you want?
Anyway it may be 3 times the price, but if you only eat a fried breakfast once or twice a week then keeping the ingredients fresh can be a chore. You can probably loose enough money on wasted ingredients to make that '3 times the price' seem like a bargain!
And then some of us don't have cooking facilities anyway!

i spent 3 days in BKK, had 2 b'fasts. Absolutely no 99b meals to be had.

BK breakies? Used to be a couple of good places on soi 7 near the Beergarten. I'm there for a couple of days so will report back. They used to be good and just short of 200 Bht
As an aside. Those of you who remember Canadian Barry who ran a breakie place for many moons has sold up and is taking Paa (my X's niece) back to her Isaan village. They will be missed as a great couple and always a good spot for a beer, some nosh and exchange of a few jokes. Last day I believe is the 27th. I've even witnessed some heated golf exchanges by friends there and they both know who I'm talking about

Yeah I've never understood that either.... on my way to have breakfast and seeing bars open with old guys drinking beer at 0900.... I always wonder if they do that in their own country... I mean I've seen on TV that the bar in "Coronation Street" doesn't open until 1300 to prepare for all the guys who come in to drink at 1400....

Thanks Richard, I hate to hear this as his places always have good breakfasts, sandwiches, cold beers and lively conversation. He told me he was selling the last time I was there but I thought it would take longer. Guess I better get out there today or tomorrow! His first bar on Nebkahardt was my "daily" when I first moved here back in 2004.

Probably not because they're more than likely working. Don't forget, some people only manage to fly abroad once or twice in their lives, so if you ask me, they can drink as early as they want and as much as they want when they're enjoying their holidays.
As for the Thais..............there is no "connection" between drinking and the time of day.
