The very best breakfast I have ever had was in the Sofitel Hua Hin. If you want to push the boat out, you will not do better. I am not a fan of the hotel, but the breakfast is the best I have ever had in the whole world!
Second best to that was in Hong Kong 50 years ago.

Its not owned by Sofitel anymore siani, it's part of the centara group (Central Dept. stores and all that).

Yes, I heard that somewhere, not that I would stay there again. The breakfast was memorable though 8) We used to have a late breakfast after a swim, then not have to eat again until the evening!

Squealing Pig on soi 102 opens at 9. Big breakfast is 135 baht. Black coffee is real coffee, not espresso.

Had a great breakfast here, ( Anna's café, soy 94, directly opposite the Narawan hotel, next to the railway crossing ) yesterday.

Real coffee and homemade black pudding.

What about the sausages and bacon. Were they real, or Thai style?

Real Americans don't eat black pudding.

one feature of American breakfasts is that in the North you get, Hash Browns, in the South, Grits.

If Thai hotels use the above descriptions, it could explain some of the crap served up every morning :?

There are variations of English breakfast all over, erm, England! I think the only three ingredients common to all would be egg, bacon and sausage. I've seen it served with laver bread in North Devon (obviously a Welsh connection there) and the wonderfully yummy Staffordshire oatcakes in Leek, which was my favourite!

The large breakfast at El Murphys (served in an oblong oven ready dish) is excellent! It comes with black and white pudding...

the Zappa quote should be attributed to Jon Hendricks who sang it on the album, Lambert, Hendricks and Ross Sing a Song of Basie, recorded in the late '50's. the song was called Little Pony, a tribute to the alto saxaphone player Pony Poindexter. (I think that was the song.)
