Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
The Pizza place at the entry to the Villa Mkt plaza seems to have folded its chairs and called it a day. No great loss.
Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
Yes, I noticed that "Pizza Pizza" looked like it was closed. Although not the cheapest, they did have decent pizza, or at least calzones which I had a few times.
New restaurant soi 102
7 Grams Coffee Roasters has opened on soi 102 behind the Mil Pool Villas sales office. This was a steak restaurant last year.
There is a restaurant, cafe and obviously a coffee shop. Will check it out this week.

There is a really nice small Swiss restaurant opposite the big markets on highway 3128 (shows up like this on my google).

Palada Restaurant. My wife and I had a superb Thai meal there last night. Prices are very reasonable. The owner has completely removed the building to form a very smart hotel, bar and restaurant. It is situated on Naredamri Road ie the south end of the road that the Centara is on. It is well worth a visit.

I keep asking if the fact you had a nice meal at a restaurant in Hua Hin, news? This thread is for closures, openings etc.dundrillin wrote:Palada Restaurant. If a restaurant cooks a meal, and the fact that it was good is news worthy, what are they serving up the rest of the time?
If you want to share the fact that you've found a fantastic restaurant, then start a thread about that restaurant. The restaurant will be grateful, it will stand out better all around. Putting it on a news thread is pointless. People will not search pages of news in the hope of finding a restaurant.

I agree, one man's great meal is another man's tasteless crap. Its where? What type of food? Service? Price? that is good info.

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
Actually it is a NEW restaurant I thought that would have been obvious from the post. And surely the quality of the food served up is worth mentioning! As regards prices - Massaman curry 180 baht, Panang curry 160 baht. As for its where ? The address is mentioned in the post. Service was excellent. From a personal perspective I find the tone of Big Boy's post disappointing . Presumably you want forum members to post from time to time. Perhaps B'B' you have had another bad day at the shops.

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
I dont know if this place has been mentioned before, but just North of Hua Hin government hospital there is a new roadside eatery that sets up in the evening. It is brightly lit and with purple umbrellas and matching tables and chairs is very noticeable as you drive past.
It is called Uncle Moustaches Steaks, written in Thai only.
They serve fish and chips (55b) german sausage and chips (65b) and other combinations of sausage, fried eggs, and simple steaks all served with chips (or french fries if you are American.)
The place is clean, always busy (mostly Thais, but falangs also) and the waiter and waitress are attentive.
The fish and chips were good, freshly prepared and the batter on the decent sized fish fillet was excellent. The portion of chips was on the smallish size, but a separate order of chips by itself is very generous.
It is by no means gourmet cooking, but for a cheap meal, nicely cooked, tasty, well presented and served I can recommend this place.

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
Massaman for 180 and Panang for 160 are not "very reasonable" in Thailand, imo. They are actually on the expensive side.
YMMV.
This is why I always prefer to see actual prices than have people say "reasonable prices". Your reasonable is obviously not my reasonable

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
I think this thread is for "restaurant news" (openings, moving, closures etc), not what they have on menus, prices, or whether the meal was good or not!

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
I don't think you can make a judgement merely on price. I felt the food we received was exceptional. And therefore the price was very reasonable. But each to their own.
BTW what does YMMV mean ?

At the Chang fesival at MV, a group of Muslim ladies had the best MASSAMAN for 80b, now thats what you call reasonable but I agree, numbers are what is needed.
