do you know some good place for vietnam ... d ? Thanks

There are two that I know of. One is in the block just south of Market Village Mall... can't remember the name right now but some one will come along and name it shortly. The other one is a small one that is located in a difficult place to find but if you go out Soi 88 and turn left on the soi just before the right to go up Hin Lek Fai mountain, you will see the red signs. It's at the end of a small soi off that one. If in a car you have to park on the main soi and walk (approximately 100 meters) down as there is no car parking on the restaurant soi.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

The one south of M Village is Mekong Cafe and is now up for sale although still currently trading.

Last night I was planning to go for an Indian at the top of Soi 80. I enjoy their Mushroom and Potato curry's. However, as I was riding up Soi 80 I remembered about Maya's German restaurant. German posters on this forum have made complimentary remarks about Maya's Viener Schnitzel being as good as anything they'd had back at home in Germany. The restaurant itself is on a corner on the Soi 80 parallel road - about halfway up Soi 80 (toward the railway) look for a pale blue building on an interconnecting Soi to the left.

The owners, Werner & his wife, were very welcoming and Werner walked me through the menu. I soon realised that this fella loved the food, so I suggested he order for me as an "English first-timer" in his restaurant.

I can tell you that what I ate last night really was a perfect plate of food for me. I can't remember the name of the dish but it was what I would describe as two perfectly cooked (and I mean perfectly) succulent pork medallions, wrapped in bacon served with a delicious gravy and the most incredible fried potatoes. At just 250ThB it made me very happy. It was a pleasure to eat.

I'm a regular at Danjoi's - the Danish restaurant (top of Soi 80 turn left, 25m on the left) which has incredible roasts, particularly their lamb on a Wednesday, but Maya's is certainly up there with this place. I'll definitely be back to Maya's to try a few more dishes from their menu.

The common thing about both Maya's and Danjois restaurants are that the ex-pat owners wish to eat the food that they serve, but can't find it elsewhere in HH. So these unassuming little places are almost born out of necessity. It's hard not to like eateries where there is a genuine degree of care taken in the produce selection, preparation and the cooking. In both restaurants, anything that is served also passes under the watchful eyes of the European owners too. This is another good sign of quality and a commitment to a standard.

Both Danjoi's and Maya's are definitely my sort of restaurants and i'd recommend them to anyone. If you enjoy meat, and i'll admit - I haven't tried every single HH restaurant just yet, I doubt you'll find anything better in Hua Hin at the price, or any price for that matter. They really are terrific eateries.

Cool Breeze, as mentioned by many on the thread, is another place that floats my boat. Very good tapas indeed.
