I just realised I wasn't entirely sure what Thai French beef is. For anyone in a similar state of ignorance, see:

^ Sorry, I guess I should have explained. I was educated by one of the owner/operators of a forum sponsor restaurant who also served both Thai French and Australian imported steaks at the time. I was curious about the difference in taste as the price difference was pretty big so he gave me a blind taste test one night with me tasting both while not knowing which one was which. I picked the Thai French as being better than the much more expensive Australian.
