Looking for vegetarian restaurant in HH
Looking for vegetarian restaurant in HH
Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a vegetarian restaurant in HH/CA? I have never noticed any here, but never been looking.
Preferably specifically vegetarian, but if not then any restaurant that has a good veggie menu (not Indian).
Any help appreciated, cheers!

Hi! There are some vegetarian restaurants, you can find it in Happy Cow (app or webpage).
But best place for vegetarians is S&S indian Restaurant at Soi 94. Tasty food, nice place and very friendly people. Ask them to help you with veg menu. I'm really sorry but indian food is only one good veg food in HH.
Pure veg restaurants (actually small cafe with buffet) are near Soi 70. We don't love it, so I can not recommend it.

There's a nice looking vegetarian place in the soi right before Makro heading north (soi 6, I think).
There was also a nice one on soi 88 (fork right after crossing the rails) for the Je festival. They will reopen on Oct 24.

The last week in September is "Jae" which Thai bjuddists believe "is a good time to eat vegetarian food". You may have noticed yellow and red stickers on a lot of the packages in 7/11 etc... the red and yellow signifies that it is Jea food. Anyway, around this time of year you will see some of the traditional Thai restaurants flying a red and yellow flag. This indicates that they are partaking in Jea and (I believe all of) the food is vegetarian. They have a lot of traditional thai dishes prepared with various meat substitutes, as well as a few dishes that can't be found anywhere else.
I know it's a little late to be telling you this now, but something to bear in mind next year, anyway.

Why are you recommending an Indian restaurant when the inquirer specifically wrote not Indian)??Marina&Sea wrote:Hi! There are some vegetarian restaurants, you can find it in Happy Cow (app or webpage).

This might be of interest to vegetarians, September and October you can find vegetarian festivals i think more down south obviously lots of food and pageantry but for some obscure reason they like to push knifes and skewers through their faces and body's its all a bit gruesome. Just a thought that it might be of interest for some of you.

Dear Lung Per,
thats why I wrote "Sorry". There no good veg restaurants in HH at all.
I add some veg places into Happy Cow with addresses and work-hours, non-indian, traditional thai veg rests. It is good way to find all this places, but I cannot add link. My suggestion was to open webpage or App HappyCow and choose one.

I saw this place in Soi 6 today. It must be the one referred to by Moater in post 3 above. It's maybe 150 meters on left from Phetchkasem. Should be easy to spot.

I've a fuzzy memory that mini farm has enough vegetarian items to fill a menu page. Soi 88 West, cross railroad, turn right, then it's <50 meters ahead on the left.

For a while there Homer I was convinced that you had some form of Tourette's that caused you to randomly type 'left' or 'right' while posting. This post has shown me to be wrong.Homer wrote:I've a fuzzy memory that mini farm has enough vegetarian items to fill a menu page. That's enough now, please...
