My favorite was in Beijing. TGIF, Thank God its Friday, opened a branch. Right next door a Chinese guy opened a restaurant --- Thank God its Saturday.

Tbh that happens here in Turkey as well. Many bar owners can't see past the end of their nose, no thought to long-term business.

I was at 88 tonight. One of my favorite vendors has left. Looking for alternatives I walked around all the stalls--there were about 6 empty. My guess, the usual, landlord making money+++ , but its never enough. Raise the rents, loose great vendors and wonder why the profits are down

I went tonight for my takeaway and noticed the only vendor I really use has left so I'm guessing it's the same one. Her chicken tikka masala is probably one of the best value meals in HH.
I asked at her old stall in case she has moved to another position in the market and a Thai lady customer said she's gone but didn't elaborate. :(

Probably the one behind the Big C then. I will ask my contacts there. It also gets busy apparently but only a small area.

^^ I hope you mean the food court at Big C on Hua Hin - Huay Mongkol Road. That would be much more convenient for me.

Decided to see what was happening at the food court on Soi 94 at lunchtime today. Had no problems getting service and a seat there as we we the only customers. Only one row of vendors and only a few active with most either chatting or sleeping. Pretty tough for the vendors there at the moment, if today was any indication they certainly would not be making a living out of there.

Midsman : your post is confusing me as it was dated yesterday and you are saying the lady served the curry to you on soi 94 on 28 Feb - well she served me some 2/3 Sundays ago adjacent to Big C on Huay Mongkol Rd. So is she at both venues?

Looks like another major change the food court/market on soi 94. Rows of large established trees have been placed in the car park parallel to the food court on the western side. The roofline of the structure is also being changed with a gable being built across the existing complex. Quite a few baht being spent. Is anyone aware of the purpose/imtention of the latest revamp?

Soi 88 did well so 94 developer thought I can do samesame and it will be a success, but it doesnt work like that, now trying everything to make it different from 88---all doomed to failure. Only Sakura 299b buffet doing any busuness.

Big disappointment: The Sunday market Soi 94 (between 88 and 94) has disappeared.
