Not easy to find good Mexican food with reasonable prices and portions in Thailand. But what we have so far found to be our favorite in Hua Hin is a small almost unknown place called “Mexican s 94” on Charoen Phatthana 2 Soi - same street as the new food court but about 75 meters south of Soi 94. GPS: N12.5540 E099.9541.
This lady worked 2 years in Iraq to save up some money to come home to start her own restaurant. Clean, tidy, all ingredients are fresh and there is Thai & western food too. Also beer, wine & mixed drinks. She does everything alone and by herself so somtimes there is a bit of a wait but worth it. There is parking around the corner in front of where Korat Kitchen used to be and motorbikes park right inside her front doors. She will do take away too if you want to eat at home. Even when we eat somplace else we often stop there for Mexican food to take home to eat later or next day.
Be aware that “small” at this place means large and large means “BIG” Stay away from the beef tho as somtimes it is chewy. And she has a soft spot for the Soi dogs and feeds them so they hang around and might bark when you show up but then go away and leave you alone. A real neighborhood type of place with a lady who wants to please you - first time we went there I asked for cha yen, which she didn’t have but without a word got on her motor bike to go somplace to get it..!
Mexican food in Hua Hin
Re: Mexican food
I pass there almost daily and apart from being sprayed by her (she spends her time spraying the road outside) I don't recall ever seeing any customers in there day or night. If there are then they are so few not to be noticed.
Re: Mexican food
Pacific Bar on Soi 94 has good Mexican food. Run by an American. I am from California so I know good Mexican food.
I really like this forum because there are no personal attacks. All the members contribute in a positive way to my posts.

SoCal. There are regional differences in Mexican food preferences, where the regions can be state sized or larger. In SoCal there are socio-economic differences. As a generalization, suburbanites don't know, or need to know what sesos, cabeza, suadero or lengua are, because they take one look at places serving such delicacies, then announce they are NOT going in there. Let them eat at Chili's. I'll take King Taco.JamesWest wrote:Well are you from somewhere in Mexico or Southwest USA or maybe New Mexico ?

The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

In Further reference to 'Mexican s 94' - same street as the new food court but about 75 meters south of Soi 94, GPS: N12.5540 E099.9541. hhfarang 22 May 2015 under ‘BBQ Pork Ribs’ posted that this same place had BBQ ribs 2nd only to Terrace 90 and that the owner/chef learned at T90 as she used to be a cook there. Which speaks for her Mexican food too. T90 is closed now so that must bump her up to being the best… Except that she does have too kind a heart toward the soi dogs that she feeds.
