Seen Space, Soi 19

Post by Big Boy »

I've been driving past this place for months now, thinking what a stupid place to build a shopping mall. From the road, it's occupation resembles a beach front version of East Square - deserted.

A couple of days ago, a friend posted some photos on Facebook, which looked very nice. I asked her where they were taken, and was quite shocked when she said it was Seen Place,

When we'd finished at the docs this morning, I suggested Mrs BB and I go check it out for lunch.

We pulled up across the road, and the place looked derelict. Mrs BB and I looked at other, and in unison asked what should we do. I said let's go inside, we might be surprised.

Sure enough, as we went past the ghost town entrance, we could see shops, bars and restaurants ahead. Unfortunately, we were a little early for lunch (11:30), so we just had a look around. It looks a lovely place to while away a few hours with a long cold drink - there were bars and restaurants a plenty. I only had my phone with me, but took a couple of sea front shots.

A beautiful building if you like modern.

That's what I've been thinking for months. Stop and go in, you'll be surprised. OK, there are better places, but it was a hell of a lot nicer than I expected.

One word of warning, the roof of the complex is Thai height in several places. If you're over 6' be prepared to duck.

I was out this way with a friend who was visiting earlier, and we called in. Still not really my kind of place, but what a beautiful transformation.

We often get people on the forum looking for a public swimming pool. I've no idea what it costs, but this is certainly an option.

I have similar photos from the other day which I intended posting but you beat me to it! One or two nice looking food places there as well. But this isn't a place for the average Thai, it seems to be specifically aimed at the young and wealthy. It also isn't finished yet, which makes parts of it a blight. I know someone who has invested there - young and from Bkk.
