New Year

Post by Retseff »

I am coming to Hua Hui in December and will be there over the new year. Can anyone tell me if there are any good events on over the new year in farang bars / restaurants? Is it worth booking something before flying out on 26th December.

BTW, I am coming with my wife and we're young, looking for a lively time but not interested in the girlies (however beautiful!)

Take a look at other posts on the same g/f in bar scenario. No problem in HH. Your g/f is likely to get more attention than you - despite any looks you may have!!
New year? Stay away from the big hotels - they're a rip off - get out on the streets and enjoy yourselves.

Not sure if it's an annual event or was just a one-off last year, but the Sengha Beer Festival was terrific fun. Sengha beer sold by the jug, enough for six or so cups. The wee man pouring the jugs from the barrel was amazed as I kept returning, again and again, until after 12 jugs I just had to run away and siphon the python.....

Great fun, floor shows of thai dancers, a band, a pop star from Bangers and some silly slapstick, then the highlight - a budhist priest in saffron robes attempting to "baptise" all those within range with a sprinkling of water (much in the manner of catholics), 'cept he used a hose with his thumb over the end !!!

If it's on again this year, there are worse places to spend hogmanay.
