Court To Trial Son Of Red Bull Executive
By The Nation
TOP STORIES
The Southern Bangkok Criminal Court has set 10am on May 8 to arraign Vorayuth Yoovidhya, 28, the son of a senior Red Bull executive, on three charges involving the crash of his Ferrari into a motorcycle that killed the policeman driving it.

Reucha Kraireuk, a member of the public prosecutors' office attached to the court, said Thursday that police investigators had sought to indict Vorayuth for manslaughter and hit andrun but dropped the charges of speeding and driving under the influence.

However prosecutors reinstated the speeding charge because CCTV footage showed the Ferrari racing at 170 kilometres an hour on Sukhumvit Road.

The three charges were presented to the court's prosecutorgeneral Seksan Bangsomboon for consideration.

Vorayuth was arrested at home after his black Ferrari hit the motorbike driven by Pol Sr Sgt Major Wichian Klanprasert, 48, of Thong Lor Police Station, on September 3.

Vorayuth's attorney asked for a postponement of Thursday's arraignment.

The fact that it was a policeman killed, there's a small chance that he might get convicted, I hope so anyway!!

Everyone seems to have forgotten the other rich kid that cut a poor girl in half when she was crossing the street a while back.........................guess she wasn't as important as a policeman.

Nothing will happen to him - he was only doing 170 km/hr! Well known politicians son shot a policeman in the head, with lots of witnesses, went on the run for a few months. Pretty sure he didn't go to jail!

The politician is now deputy PM, and the son is a shooting instructor at the police academy. Jail, he didn't even go to trial per my understanding. What the F?!

Negotiations continue over the size of the sack of dosh, hence the delays.

The poor baby is sick and stuck in Singapore. What rubbish!

"....Mr Tanit claimed Mr Vorayudh travelled to Singapore last Thursday to run business errands and originally planned to return to Thailand on Sunday to meet with the prosecutors. However, he came down with influenza when he was about to leave Singapore and the doctor instructed him to rest for a few days......"

A cop's life now seems to be worth about $95K. The family of the non-connected person run over by the punk in the Benz a few years ago got about $15K.
Nice to see a "value system" in place.

The way that this would play out in the west is that a few months from now he would be found seriously injured or more in a wreck, cus every cop in town would be out to get him and show you dont fool with the cops--Does it work that way here.
