Reporting at least 12 dead. The Royal Thai Police have reported that they think it's a bomb.
Is Bangkok a place or a nasty injury.......Eric Morcombe.

According to a source at the scene (unverified) up to 15 fatalities now including at least 1 westerner.

Bloody hell!

My sincerest condolences to the family of those killed.

It took longer than expected but maybe this is the beginning of what was, ultimately, inevitable. I sure hope not.

This is going to hurt Thailand. It's going to hurt bad.

The military, AKA 'The National Council for Peace and Order' have long veiled Thailand in a thin sheet of happiness while dismissing and suppressing the serious, underlying problems the country has.

Well - bang goes Thailand's next 'high season', but I guess with the underlying unrest in the country, this was going to happen sooner or later.
Ironically until end of July I was working less than 200m from there, next to Chidlom BTS station. It is a very crowded tourist spot at all times of the day for foreigners and Thais visiting the capital.
