Re: Foreigners arrested for alleged drug offences in Hua Hin
As Thai police are mostly inept, I can only assume that there's a snitch as this is the second farang drug bust in a few weeks. The first was another bar owner (poonsuk). I believe he got away with a hundred grand fine.
I did wonder how the few 'major' players in Hua Hin managed to get away with it for so long - probably getting a few sleepless nights at the moment.

Those who peddle drugs for easy profit are unprincipled, immoral and criminal and more often than not will be quick to resort to violence when their income stream is threatened. They serve no purpose other than to feed their own greed.
It is better for the majority that this nasty minority are removed from society.
Whether drugs are harmful or should be legalised or not is a completely different argument.

How can you compare alcohol and drugs??? Drugs are illegal, alcohol is legal. There is quite a big difference there!

Of course he reversed the text because he is into drugs, not alcohol as he has stated on other threads.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Yes the replacement of alcohol didn't work for me either. We are talking about drugs here, period.huahin4ever wrote:How can you compare alcohol and drugs??? Drugs are illegal, alcohol is legal. There is quite a big difference there!

Every cloud has a silver lining! Yes I recognise the Thai guy as well from darts way back.HHTel wrote:One good thing that comes out of this. CAT loses one of their best dart players which gives us a better chance when we play them next. lol
I can't equate the value of the drugs involved to weight, and as far as I know sentencing is based largely on the weight of drugs when they are smuggled. This case appears to involve selling on as well so god knows how the courts view that.
But my guess is the 2 farang could face life. Silly boys.

Is he? I'm slightly surprised, there had been talk that he would get off due to some contacts he has but the way it was reported was along the lines of this 'gang' being caught and it sounded like the 3 of them were in big big trouble. I didn't think his contacts would be able to help him.HHTel wrote:Noi is already back on the streets.

I really like this forum because there are no personal attacks. All the members contribute in a positive way to my posts.
Re: Arrested for Alleged Drug Offences
Killing one the perp hurts one person (and, quite naturally, his family and friends. I actually thought this would be a given and therefore not need additional dissection.) Selling drugs to 1000 of whom - say - just 50 become totally addicted, the perp has destroyed 50 person's lives, and, of course has hurt the family and friends of those 50.bsdk1960 wrote:What about family and friends ?Farang wrote:1. 2. Selling drugs the perp hurts many people.
3. Selling drugs does greater harm to society than killing one member of it.
4. There might be mitigatory circumstances when killing someone, selling drugs more rarely has them.
Any abuse of drugs or drinking is peoples own choice when they take the first drink or drug, being killed cold blooded is not even if your a assho.e and deserve it
yes I know all abuse is a sicknes but it's still your own choice.

1. Any totally addicted person has already lost his/her life even though still alive. Therefore a drug seller has been instrumental in destroying several lives during his/her business career.Takiap wrote:Farang wrote:1. 1. When you kill someone you don't only hurt one person. You take one person's life, and you hurt everyone that knew that person
2. Selling drugs hurts many people, I agree, but I also think that only a small percentage of users go on to be full blown addicts. I know plenty of people who have taken drugs in one form or another when they were younger and today they are no different from anyone else.
3. Agree and disagree.
4. There is no justification for murdering someone.
Anyway, as a father of three young girls, all I know is that I would rather someone sells them drugs instead of raping and killing them.
2. While you appear to think that the fact that not all of the drug users became totally addicted is somehow a mitigating circumstance in selling drugs, I do not think so.
3, 4. The society murders people continually in wars and in punishments only to safeguard itself. If you you murdered the drug pusher who raped and killed your three daughters, any court anywhere would take into account the mitigating circumstances of you actions into account. In some countries you would walk free since your action would be seen as justified.

Yes farang totally agree.
Takiap would have us believe that Bin Laden was able to be rehabilitated too!

Mate, have you even attended a school, or were you just born this way.
How the hell can you compare Bin Laden to a petty criminal.
If you want to draw comparisons, then let's not forget that in "some" countries, millions of Thai women would be stoned to death due to their lucrative careers. Why condemn such countries? After all, that is the law in such countries.
Yes, drug dealers are stupid if they are willing to take a chance trading in places like Thailand, but comparing it to murder or mass murder is quite simply absurd. And, let's not forget, it has already been posted on here that the Thai guy is back on the streets, so if you remove your rose colored glasses for a moment, you'll realize that the authorities here don't really believe in the cause.
I'm not advocating the use or distribution of drugs, but nothing will ever convince me that a murderer is less evil than a drug dealer. Considering my most recent experience over here, perhaps this is not really a thread I should be contributing to.
