TAT--worthless organisation. If the Japanese invaded again and restarted the death railway TAT would greet them with flowers.

Quite funny actually, when I read Thai holiday from 24 to 27 Sept, I was immediately thinking about a zip trip to Vietnam - completely opposite to the intended reaction

I sometimes think that Thailand would be a better country today if the U.S. and allied forces had just stayed in Thailand at the end of World War 2 and Thailand became a 'colonial possession' of the U.S. or a British Commonwealth country.
But Japan is an extremely xenophobic country and the U.S. Military did occupy Japan for several years at the end of World War 2, so who knows.

Nah, I think Thailand would be a lot worse and a lot more expensive if that happened.
