Hua Hin tourism revival activities get underway

Post by buksida »

The private sector in Hua Hin resort town of Thailand's Prachuap Khiri Khan province have joined forces with Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to hold activities aimed at restoring tourists' confidence in the famous seaside town, after it was hit by an explosion about two weeks ago.

The first activity to revive the town's image as a renowned tourist spot started Saturday, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

Chairman of the Association of Domestic Travel (ADT) Puriwat Limtawornrat said the bombing in Hua Hin during the long Mother's Day weekend about two weeks ago has gravely affected tourism in the town.

This prompted the ADT and the Hua Hin-Cha-am Tourism Association to join hands with the TAT to organise activities aimed at helping to stimulate the economy in the tourism front during August to November.

The first activity under the campaign would see a tour group leading over 300 tourists to visit the town's popular tourist spots such as the Hua Hin train station and Hua Hin beach, in order to bring back confidence among visitors on the town's security and safety.

At the same time, the ADT chairman also said that the local private sector would like the government to immediately set a long-term safety and security measures in the area, as well as find and punish the culprit as soon as possible.
