I tried out the new overpass today, appears it is now formally opened and complete. It looks very nice and I didn’t notice any problems with the riser height of both stairways I used. It appeared the coating on the edge of the stair steps is wearing off already, wasn’t sure if it was just paint or some other type of coating. I didn’t use the elevator but I did see that it is being used by other people. I did notice that on both sides of Petkasem, the overhead data / utility cables (not the power lines) rub tight against the structure of the overpass and are already wearing the paint off the structure and the plastic sheath off the cables. If this isn’t addressed it’s just a matter of time until internet or telephone service is disrupted for someone, but since these cables are either extremely low voltage or fiber optic it should not be a danger to pedestrians on the overpass.
