According to Lieutenant Colonel Sanit Nookong, the woman was six months pregnant.

I suspect we all feel the same, saddened, shocked but not surprised.

No surprise, tourist shouldn't drive things they aren't trained or experienced with in a foreign country.

If licensed, then a big oops, not turning head to check if road clear before entering lane.

If you read the stories through the links you will learn the unfortunate subject was not a tourist but lived full-time in Thailand.

I was referring to the person actually driving the motorbike.

As it wouldn't be stupid or illegal to sit on the back as psgr, well.........IF driver was licensed or experience ...... if not ..... then you make the news.

Oakdale quite a stupid comment when...

“The woman was then run over by the truck and sustained fatal head injuries.”

We of course don't know the exact details, but in this case I'm inclined to think that the lorry driver was not to blame. It seems to me the guy on the bike failed to check in his mirror or over his shoulder before moving out into the lane next to where he was riding.

We can all make assumptions, but Thai roads are not the safest place to be on a bike. Very sad - also in the news here in the UK.
