Just an update for anyone else looking! The Indian restuarant is still open on Soi Long Beach as far as we know! And we love the food they serve!Alanthebuilder wrote:Does anybody know is that Indian curry house still open in Cha -Am ??

Newbie here, just stopping by to say that Aree (sp?) is the restaurant mentioned above.
They do a cracking biriyani, a good selection of curries and I am a big fan of their aloo raita.
Apparently you can even call up a take away order and just go to collect it!!
(as if by magic, here is the number 084 0096350)
We love it.
Not that after 3 years in Taiwan we were gagging for a decent curry or anything...........

It's either cut down on beer or the kids' new gear. It's a big decision in a town called Malice.

I know about the Indian Hut, which is part of the Scandi restaurant along the beach by the Golden Sands Hotel, but that's closed (for refurbishment?) at the momrent - are there any other Indian restaurants in Cha-am?

I think Aree and Indian Hut (above Max Scandinavian restaurant) are the only two in Cha-Am.
I would say that Indian Hut is the better of the two but Aree is OK. Both places also do typical children's menus of burgers, nuggets, etc.

It's on a wide dual carriageway type soi between soi 9 and 10 North that has a large hotel at the West end.
Google coordinates 12.806539,99.987417
Edited to clarify to location, it connects Ruamjit (the beach front) and Chao Lai (the back road) roads and is between soi 9 and 10 North (it doesn't connect soi 9 and 10 North)
