Nice recovery Jockey.

It puzzles me why so many Hua Hin Farang wish to pass derrogatory comments on Cha Am. You guys don't own Hua Hin, or have any involvement in its current or future shape (except to add furhter non-Thai tourist bars or restaurants, I mean that factually, not as a derrogatory remark).

Hua Hin and Cha Am are very different to one-another, and long may they both stay that way. The 2 towns are so close, that we can all share amore diverse life-style becasue of their differences.

I spend my weekends mostly in Cha Am, but come to Hua Hin for a change sometimes, and f course if I need the greater array of shopping opportunities. I think HH is a wonderful place, and I truly enjoy the tranquility of Cha Am (the part I live in anyway) - you'll not be surprised to note that I never go on the beach road on a public Holiday in Cha Am.

In a previous thread it was mentioned about gangs of Thai youths fighting on the streets, what about gangs of adults e-fighting on the forum!

Enjoy both towns and be grateful for the differences.

There are also some non-seedy bars where you can enjoy a quiet beer without any hassle (and bring your children).

Cha Am has a GoGo bar which Hua Hin lacks
Is it still open ? Did it ever open ?
We went there several times in the early days and they were not allowed to 'go-go'. Just as well as Dr's description of the staff is correct.

What's the story with it now ?

I've been there its next to a mexican/thai restaurant I use to like. The gogo is not very good, the small open soi area had few lady bars also. Its RHS before you get to the beach after you turn at the main light going towards the beach. I heard a pier north side of town with some kind of nightlife but all I know of is the seafood restaurants up there.

That's what I like about the Cha-Am experts, usually not from Cha-Am and make profound statements about it without actually knowing where to go! There are many nice places to have a drink and socialise in Cha-Am.
I lived in Huahin many years ago, visited it on a regular basis before moving to Thailand and decided that the place was full of tourists, touts and t***ers and that was before I realised how bad the traffic was!
Leave us Cha-Armers alone. :D

Nightlife with bargirls and massage parlors at the Cha Am bus station, slightly south on the beach road. Plenty of karaoke bars on the main road leading from Petchakasem Rd to the Beach Road. The karaoke bars, as in Hua Hin, have mainly local customers. There are also small full-service "massage shops" in the small streets around the fishing harbor area, mostly visited by local fishermen. Seem somewhat unsafe or less attractive for some reason.
Good hunting.
