Places to Stay

Post by mjamuk »

Hello all.

We are staying in Hau Hin in Feb next year for 10 days, and would be very greatful for any info.

As 2 oldie couples we have shortlistd Ban Duangkaew Resort as a good place to stay ??.

From the info online it seems a way out of the town centre .Are there any local bars/restraunts within easy walking distance from the Ban Duangkaew Resort,or would we be better trying to find a quite place a bit closer to town.

Our price range is max 3500B per night.

Regards
Mike

Baanduangkaew is in Khao Takiab (about 3km south of town). There are a few local restaurants but no bars there (apart from whats in the Resort).

I think the beaches are nicer at Khao Takiab but its a lot quieter and all the lively places are in the center of town.

I take it you've already seen their web pages:

http://www.baanduangkaew.com
http://www.kabantamor.com - another nice resort in that area

The Anantara is nice but again, a long way out of town.

Thanks for the info Lev.
Have you any recommendations nearer the town.
Our other halves want a Quiet hotel with areas to sit outside, with a balcony & pool.We are happy to go along with that as long as we can walk to a few local bars,we would be happier if they are not that lively, but the ones the residents use.
Cheers

The Sofitel is about the best place in town, you may get a good deal if you book early over the internet. Most hotels give better rates for internet bookings than regular walk ins.

Thank you Lev

The Sofitel is above our budget, even booking online.

We are now thinking of the Hua-Hin Grand Hotel & Plaza ,It seems near the town and is within our budget. Do you have any info on this one.
Best regards

Be avare of that Sofitel has a bungalow area where u can get a one bedroom bungalow for a very good rate. It is btewwn Hilton and Softel. Central Vilage is the name, and the good thing is that you can walk over to Sofitel for the exelenc brekfast it is included in the bungalow price.

Thanks for all the information.
The Sofitel is also above our budget.
Will it be better if we leave the booking(wherever we finally decide) until the last minute, will we get a better deal then ??.

Can anyone recommend any of these. Takiab Beach Resort
Hua- Hin Bluewave
Hin Nam Sai Suay'
They seem a bit out of town,it seems there is a regular shuttle, hof long does it take please. These are all in the right price range for us.
Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers Mike.

Just read your advice - would you have a contact fax, email or web site for the Sofitel my partner and I are looking for somewhere to stay for 6 months in Hua Hin and that sounds like a good place
