Hua Hin hotel advise wanted

Post by Crocket »

Hi all,

Looking forward to visiting HH again in October and need a bit of advice.

I am considering staying at Thipurai City Hotel for the first time, could anyone advise me if it's girl friendly.

Would hate to book then find problems later.

Also if you have any opinions on the hotel they will be most welcome.

Kind regards

Crocket

I am not sure about that hotel, just checked it on the map. The jed pee non [if thats how you spell it] is girl friendley, the markwin lodge on 88 is also. And the charleron is aswel. The hilton will ask for id, but i assume its not where you want to be anyway looking at the price. Also i think el murpheys would be ok, no pool but about 800 baht a night i think. There is also a brand new hotel on soi 88, its 1000 baht a night, i do know the manager ill ask what the deal is. Maybe some of the sponsers could give some input aswel

Thipurai City is certainly very central, but so are the others mentioned like Markwin and JedPheeNong, and there are plenty of others just the other side of Petkasem in the Night Market area which should fit the bill - and probably be a bit more quiet.
I'm obviously not able to comment on the 'girl friendly' aspect, but would point out that any hotel which asks for ID is usually a safer bet anyway, and not to be sniffed at.

Mags, maybe we're talking about different hotels, but I wouldn't call the Markwin central as it is pretty far up Soi 88 (guessing at least a kilometer west of the railroad tracks and not walking distance to downtown). It is, however a nice hotel and directly across the street from Nata which is a very good European/Thai restaurant.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I googled "hua hin" and "girl friendly". Two results pointed to forum posts. You'll find the answer about Thipurai City Hotel there.

Spam isn't necessary as all of Hua Hin's hotels can be booked via this website at better than walk-in rates: http://huahinforum.com.r24.asia/huahin/

Hi Crocket,

I stayed at Thipurai City Hotel in Dec 2010, it's a smart little hotel in the town centre.

There were a couple of young English girls staying there and they seemed to be happy enough.

Only drawback is the small pool but it's a good hotel for the price paid.

Good Luck ................Jockster

crocket, we have been to hua hin four times, havent been to the one in mind, and now we consider the hyatt to be top of the tops, service, location, natural treed environment, and overall sereneity, expect 4000 to 5000 a night, breakfast setting visually stunning, and lawns right beside the beach, and pools cant be beaten. sublime, and very natural friendly.

Crocket.

I stayed there a couple of times year back before I had my own house. No problem with ladies. I don't think they changed their policy. Thipurai City is an ordinary 3* hotel. Small rooms, simple interieur, decent breakfast, in the very center of town.

I think I misunderstood what girl friendly meant as well. I reckon we don't mean for lady travelling on her own. Correct? New to H and still learning the rules and the lingo. ps when do i get to add a tag line ot my posts?

To put it bluntly, Girl friendly is if the hotel will let you take a bargirl back for the night.
