Recommendations for a couple of nights NEAR hua hin
Recommendations for a couple of nights NEAR hua hin
I'm currently in Hua Hin with my family and inlaws. Me and my wife are considering having a couple of nights away from the children, and was wondering whether anyone here had any good suggestions for destinations and accommodation? We do not want to travel far (About 30-60 mins from Hua Hin max), and the main aim of the trip is to relax have been looking at the De La Paix in Cha-am - any experiences from there? Would be good to either visit a hotel with a nice restaurant OR centrally located near other decent restaurants.

Pak Nam Pran is a nice place 30 minutes south of Hua Hin.
Very quiet and peaceful, with Dolphin Bay and Sam Roi Yod National Park only another 20-30 minutes further on.

Sure, what's your budget roughly?Henrikas wrote:Thanks Barrys, any recommendations where to stay?

Barrys:we have a very broad budget range:we are by no means squeamish as long as rooms are clean and have some charm, but can also put in some extra baht for a special experience or a special level of luxury[SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] I think mango home looks like a charming and relaxing place, but we can definitely afford to go higher on the price range - maybe 8000 baht per night is our maximum unless it is for something special or spectacular, but th en again that kind of money will go a long way here in this season, am I right?

You can certainly spend 8k or more on a hotel in the area.
I suppose it depends on whether you want a more cosy family-style experience with real personal service or a big hotel with lots of staff running around.
I think in a small laid-back place like Pak Nam Pran, maybe the first option may be more appropriate.
