Is the Hilton being renovated?
I am seeing conflicting reports on this. It is clear that the hotel has changed hands recently but I also read somewhere that renovations are either being planned or are being carried out at the moment. I am just hoping that this won't be a construction site in mid-December! Any one know what's going on?

Currently nothing that I can see. Nothing in any of the public areas.

Coming into the high season, so unlikely, but TIT so anything can happen.
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
Re: Is the Hilton being renovated?
Any idea what the proposed renovations are .... ?
Like Heathcliff81 above, we're booked in for the new year so I'm pretty interested.

Have any of you tried contacting the Hilton? I understand it's a fairly large organisation...

Re: Is the Hilton being renovated?
Perhaps not quite as simple as that DM - Who actually "manages" it? Does the Hilton Group own the property (under Thai law, I guess not)? What involvement would the Hilton group have if they neither manage or own the property?dtaai-maai wrote:Have any of you tried contacting the Hilton? I understand it's a fairly large organisation...
Hilton in name only one suspects.....

Regardless of that, if they're charging 10k baht a night, they probably have someone to answer emails.

Re: Is the Hilton being renovated?
Unfortunately it is not possible to email the HIlton Hua Hin, direct, only the international central reservations. You can forward an email to Hua hin via central reservations but they don't reply. Only answer if you really want to talk to them is telephone. Talking from recent experience.
Re: Is the Hilton being renovated?
Hasn't it already been reported that the Hilton was sold in June of this year for 3.2 billion baht. In which case, it has nothing to do with the Hilton Group.
Re: Is the Hilton being renovated?
You can still book it.
I stayed there twice and must say a full renovation would be approriate.

Re: Is the Hilton being renovated?
Hilton never owned it, they manage it for the respective owner under a management agreement. If you won't to know about renovation just e-mail the hotel....the address is available on all their publications hua-hin(at)hilton(dot)com.

I also heard that the Hilton was up for sale and the sale was pending. Wonder if that has anything to do with all this?
