Best condo in Hua Hin?

Post by fancypants »

hello people.....okay not quite sure which thread to ask this .... :?
i'm sure someone can point me in the right direction if this one is wrong.....
i'm just wondering if anyone can tell me about the condo situation in hua hin....i'll be arriving next week and looking for something for six months, maybe longer....but i'm hearing from people that many condominums are relatively empty at this time of year.....great if you want total peace and quiet....but i would like to find one that has a fairly high population of (friendly!)ex-pats....not that i want to be hanging out with my neighbours all the time but it would be nice if there were a few people around to say hi to in passing or have a chat to by the pool occassionally.
i was up in chiang mai for six months last year and i met several great people in my condo...whereas i had a friend who said she had been in her place for six months and barely saw anyone else in all that time....always had the pool to herself...but she found it a bit weird....
any suggestions??
thankyou... :sun:

You're correct, from now until October, Hua Hin condos are almost deserted except for weekends when Bangkok owners arrive. But even then, you can have the pool to yourself.

I walk the beach most nights, and most beachside condos are in darkness 24/7/365. Most condos have 1 maybe 2 lights on.

To help the OP, I believe the Condochain has a fairly high proportion of resident ex pats. They used to meet up outside the small shop on the ground floor for a beer and occasionally a BBQ. There are often rentals advertised on the usual sites.

I live in Korat but have a condo in Cha Am. I visit about once a month. On weekdays I am often the only person there. The beach is deserted and the pools are empty. On normal weekends there might be five or ten cars in the lot and a few people in the pool, but usually not before 4:00 PM. On long holiday weekends the parking lot can get full with maybe fifty cars, but you still don't see many people around. It's very rare to see non-Thai families; but there are a few foreign owners. They seem to visit very rarely.

Definitely not a great spot for meeting people.

Sport Villa (is that classed as a condo?) always seems to be quite busy. Probably a long way off being what I would define as the 'best' condo, but always very busy.

Could try The Terminal Soi 88.

Many expats coming and going and some long term.
