Condo recommendation for the New Year?

Post by Roppongi »

Hi folks I'm looking to stay in a two-bedroom condominium over the New Year from roughly 12/27 to 1/8.

Gool location and security a must.
Ocean views, pool a bonus.

Any recommendations?

C'mon folks, NO ONE has any info to share???

I emailed a few so called 'real estate' agents supposedly catering to this type of stuff.

One replied two weeks later with a one-sentence reply saying 1500 baht, another just sent me two photos without a single word and the other two are probably still trying to figure out how to turn their computer on.

WTF??? :? :(

I can't be of much help as I rent a house here.

You could try contacting the Condos themselves, Condochain, Hin Nam Sai Suay, Baan Sar Suan etc.

This site may be of help:

Thanks Lev, you seem to be a one man show here.

Oddly enough, I had another belated reply.

So what's the Hin Nam Say Suay Condominium like?

Palace or slum? Location? Security?

Pics from the agent (huahinbusinesscenter.com) look good. But when does that mean anything...

Help please.

Accomodation

Post by cockneyrebel »

Hi Roppongi, I'm sure we're not ignoring you intentionally!!! I stayed in Condochain on Phetkasem Rd for 6 months until May this year and found it adequate. Just past the Marriott on the same side of the road, it has security, a pool and is about 150 mtrs from the beach. There are rooms with a sea view, mine was on the 3rd floor but I could just about see the oggin.
My room was similar to a slightly downmarket Travel Lodge in the UK, only one room, with 2 single beds, it had a bathroom & shower, aircon, TV (no cable), fridge and a balcony. The rate was 6500 per month + water and electricity (about 850 a month depending on how many ladies you bring back for a shower!!), but on a shorter stay they charge 800 baht a night. There are different sized rooms, some with a kitchen too. Room cleaning is extra, you have to let reception know beforehand.
I found the location great, as it's far enough from town but not too far, 20 - 30 min walk or 20 baht mototaxi, and the walk along the beach into town in the morning is just the tonic for a hangover!! (Also it's guest friendly) There's a shop and a laundry on site, and a couple of Thai restaurants right across the road.
I know you can get cheaper accomodation (I'm coming back in November for 2 weeks and staying elsewhere), but for a longish term stay I was very happy there.

I have just booked to stay there for three weeks at New Year, as I did last year and found the accommodation clean, well presented and perfectly adequate for my needs. Would recommend. Dave and Narm are great.

Rop,
Hin Nam is a nice place but its 4km north of town, does have security also. A lot of students stay there, condo's are from 5k per month up but will be more over new year.

ps: the website you posted had nothing on it but a splash page.

All things are relative, Baron ! One man's excess is another man's sufficiency. Actually I had "other fish to fry" so didn't get out on a bender with Dave. Nice fella though, maybe we can manage to snatch a wee swally this time.......
