Hi one and all

Gotta post about Jings

As many of you know I've recently uprooted from HH, visited the UK and upon my return settled in Isaan

After a month in the village I needed a break and my laptop was sick so trundled off to my dealer in BK only to find later I could have taken it down to HH

Decided then while my laptop was being sorted to leg it down to HH

Stayed in Jings and will highly recommend it anybody. Accommodation very good for the price, food excellent (best bacon in Thailand), Peter and Jing always on hand to help out with whatever you need, staff very friendly, nightlife is on your doorstep but quiet in the rear part of the guesthouse.

Lasting impression is that I made more friends there in a week than I did in 7 years in a rented house in HH. Even had a visit from one of my favourite mods!

Downside is if you're weakwilled it's too close to Bintblock

As the Californian governor said 'I'll be back'

Thanks Peter and Jing :D

Must be if Richard stayed there. Are there any non-guest-friendly hotels in Hua Hin? Perhaps the 4 and 5 Star hotels?

I've stayed regularly at Hilton and Marriott - they are both guest friendly, no problems. You can have a great laugh with the security guards at the Marriott - they give the girls marks out of 10 as you come in!! Best to slip them a good tip on the first day and build up a rapport.

This information is all from a friend of course . . . .

I read somewhere that you can use the pool in a nearby hotel while staying at Jings. Is that true? If so, how far is it?

Stayed at the Sofitel a few years ago and wanted to extend our stay but could not do so because the hotel was full.
On departure, borrowed a couple of towels they used in the swimming pool, and just walked up from the beach side each day and straight into the grounds and used their facilities until we left.
No one ever questioned and always left by the main entrance on the street side.

I would highly recommend Jings.

Nice friendly people running it.

Staff are friendly too and easy to get on with.

They are doing a few alterations to some of the rooms right now (started two days ago). However, the end result will be more air conditioned rooms.

Its perfectly located. If its bars you want its in the middle of them.

Free Internet in the rooms too WiFi if you have a laptop. Otherwise you can use their PC's in a seperate room.

You can also get your breakfast there at a very reasonable price. I believe other meals may also be prepared fresh for you if you ask.

There is also a bar area.

The photo in their site needs to be updated because the front area is slightly changed but for the better.

Legit massages are also on offer together with manicures, pedicures and hair dressing all done by two lovely pleasant ladies. However, please don't ask for anything other than the legit massage as a refusal might, and will, offend.

To answer a couple of unanswered questions on this thread:
Does the rooms in Jings have a safe deposit box?
At least one room has a safe - I know because I helped pay for it, being slightly paranoid about the safety of my laptop when I first booked to stay there...

..and I have the combination! 8)

(I have also booked that room again from Jan through to mid March)

But as others have mentioned, the night watchman, long serving staff and general configuration of the building makes it a very safe place.
Is Jings Guest Friendly ??
Absolutely, but please observe the 'quiet after midnight' rule.

However, don't try to get lucky with the staff at Jings - they are good girls..

For those who are not familiar with Hua Hin; Jings’ great asset is that it is a friendly, well-run guest house set in the very heart of the bar district of the town.

The downside is that it is not the quietest part of town, nor does it have a pool; although the beach is less than five minutes walk away.

It is great for single guys, and many couples stay there too; although those with ladies who are allergic to girl bars might find it a little awkward. That said, the nightlife in Hua Hin is much more respectable, and acceptable to the fair sex; than in other Thai cities.

(Don’t let that put you off though, there are plenty of young ladies around, who are, by and large, much more sincere than those found elsewhere in the kingdom)

Wireless internet is available at Jings, and there are PC’s you can also use. There is a pleasant courtyard area with pool table and café Bar, not to mention luxurious massage facilities (but don’t expect extras..)

There are informal laundry arrangements – some members of staff are happy to do a little laundry and ironing for a modest fee, but there are also professional laundry shops dotted all over the town.

Great location, great value, and a really friendly team in charge..

Couldn't agree more uncle tom

Use it as my regular digs when down from Isaan.

The hotel round the corner (on Poolsuk) does have a pool and does permit non residence usage for a small fee.

Jings also does good grub. Good breakfast with best bacon for 30kms. Good Thai dishes too and the girls will also make up or get from a vendor sontam to your liking.

I'm staying there for a couple of weeks late January, if the replies and info to my emails are any indication, I think Jings will be a great place to stay.

Really good communication, prompt replies to my emails, I can't wait to check in there.
