Installation of Oven?
Installation of Oven?
Hi guys,
In a couple of months, we shall have a house to rent out, looking for long-term rentals.
My questions, should we have an oven installed, also do I need to pay to advertise here for a 1 off property? If so details please.
Thanks
Ken.

Yes, you will. I don't think the fee is very much, but you do need to contact Admin.ken.p wrote:do I need to pay to advertise here for a 1 off property? If so details please.

Yes, I agree. They cook better, cheaper to run and easy to clean. I have a built in oven, both in a Condo and in a house, and I never use either of them.jingjoe wrote:After buying one of those turbo ovens for about 900bht,i would never go back to an oven again icook roast chickens, cook pizzas and cakes, etcetc,i would suggest just having two gas burners for stir frying and pan cooking,

For rental property I would be inclined to wait and see. Firstly, if you can find a long term renter, and then, if so offer to put one in if they want it.

Re: Installation of Oven?
Not deliberately nitpicking but assume you meant 9000 baht which is still a lot less than a conventional oven and having opened up your link, it looks to be a very versatile piece of equipment. Having never considered one before I have never looked for them, but are they available at all of the normal electrical hardware stores in and around HH?jingjoe wrote:After buying one of those turbo ovens for about 900bht,i would never go back to an oven again icook roast chickens, cook pizzas and cakes, etcetc,i would suggest just having two gas burners for stir frying and pan cooking,

No, they ARE around 900 Baht, 990 in Makro, 1,500 in Tesco. There are a couple of different sizes and brands. Mine is "Otto".Dannie Boy wrote:Not deliberately nitpicking but assume you meant 9000 baht which is still a lot less than a conventional oven and having opened up your link, it looks to be a very versatile piece of equipment. Re: Installation of Oven?
I've just bought one of these turbo ovens (Otto) at Makro but I couldn't find any oven proof dishes or baking trays. Anyone know where I could find some? Also want to try making bread so need a suitable bread pan/tray that is small enough to fit in the oven.

Thanks. I checked the Chinese shop near to the wet market, and bought some kit there. That shop is really great and they appear to sell good quality stuff as well.
Will be trying to bake some bread and cookies tomorrow with the kids.

Re: Installation of Oven?
I'll be very interested to see how the bread turns out as the ovens are quite compact and the top of the loaf might be a bit too close to the top of the machine?Takiap wrote:Thanks. Yes, it might be a matter of trial and error, but can't see space being a problem if I use the low rack and aim for smallish loaves. The biggest challenge for me will be getting the dough mix right because I have never even attempted making bread before.

Re: Installation of Oven?
That's quite a challenge then, but hopefully you'll enjoy it, I make my own bread all the time but bake it in a conventional oven so interested to see how you get on - good luck.Takiap wrote:Yes, it might be a matter of trial and error, but can't see space being a problem if I use the low rack and aim for smallish loaves.
