Hi,I am new on here so sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.
I am buying a small bungalow in the Hua Hin area and was wondering if anyone on here could point me in the direction of a reasonably priced painter. Thanks.

Do it yourself.
My advice . .from long experience here as well as the keen observation of a paint "fanatic" . . .do it yourself or be very disappointed.
Drop cloths, masking tape, careful professional work, clean up afterwards. .. sorry but you just will not find it here.
A typical "painter" here is a Burmese boy handed a brush (perhaps for the first time) and told to go to it. Drips everywhere. Examples?? Palm Hills sport center. Check out white paint dripped onto sand-wash floor around every single column and along every wall. Check any place in town recently or not so recently painted and you will find drips, paint splotches etc. I used to pass a huge portrait of the king outside the main temple in town. . .huge splotches of paint all along one side.
Good luck if you do decide to hire someone!!

We've just had some painting done by a Thai guy who's the nearest to a western painter i've ever encountered over here....
He painted a house opposite and i was gobsmacked at his care and attention to detail....
comes with dust sheets, high quality brushes and years of experience...
also does landscaping and bits of carpentry work too....
PM me if you want some contact details (NB - you'll need a Thai speaker cos he don't speak any English)...
Re: Painters
Hi Properperson
I am also looking for a reliable Painter - PM sent to you.
I always end up doing it myself but getting to the stage where I can't be bothered!
Thanks
Jim

Re: Painters
Wow this must be a first for Thailand,a decent painter? i was in the painting game for years, had a car port built here a few years ago,all good till the painter arrived my missus told him you better do a good job hubby was a painter for many years, his reply i paint for 25 years?? had his wife and son with him,so i looked on,no drop sheets for my nice d/way,one roller, one huge brush which his wife used for cutting in? no paint tray, the drops on the d/way his boy hosed them off as they dropped? one coat of undercoat, one coat of paint? i said no no more paint, not have too expensive,i went inside to cool down, after some time they departed,i went outside cleaned up more paint drops, then noticed a complete strip he had missed on one of the concrete pylons,ph him he says come back 2 morrow, when he returned not happy at all big dummy spit.So yes if u find a good thai painter hold onto himproperperson wrote:bert91157 wrote:Hi,I am new on here so sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.
