The birthday party was a great success by the way, thanks to Sean and Alan and Hannes .....

.... and now it's nearly Christmas!

We're organising a Christmas party for all the Mercy House kids on St. Stephen's Day or Boxing Day (26 December) depending on where you're from.

We will be having the party at our marina in Paknampran.
The plan is for them to have a real Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, Christmas presents under the tree, and then they can have some fun on the kayaks, speedboats, etc.

If anyone would like to donate to the Christmas party and/or come along to lend a hand and meet these lovely kids, you're very welcome.

The kind of donations we would like include individually wrapped presents, Christmas food items, Christmas crackers, funny hats, etc.

These can be left at our restaurant/office in town or in Paknampran.

Let's give these children a Christmas they'll never forget!!!

One cooked and sliced Turkey with stuffing, bacon chipolatas, gravy and mince pies or xmas pudding happily donated by the Ham & Bacon Company.

I've even got a Santa suit (donated by Big Boy) that is just your size Barry. :thumb:

This is a great idea, if I'm available, I'll certainly come along.

I remember JD wearing that at the 2005 (2006?) kids party. I think 30 minutes in and he looked as if he had walked through Death Valley. You need a portable air conditioner which is probably why he volunteered Barry this time. :D Pete

I remember the Boxing Day dash up the M5 for a Service Station rendevouz with Jaime, who was flying out to Thailand early the next morning - just in time to deliver it for the party.

I may have donated it, but it took a lot of teamwork to get it where it was needed in time for JD to brighten up the faces of all of those kids. Well all except my youngest grand daughter :D

Thanks a million JD, you're an absolute star :thumb:

The Santa costume is a great idea too!!

There will be 24-25 kids at the party and we need individual presents for them.
A couple of boxes of Christmas crackers would also be handy if anyone knows where to get them or can bring some with them.

Thanks a lot for your help

The gesture is nothing compared to the time and effort you and others put in. Have a great time

Barry, we'll be there to lend a hand with the kids, and Mrs D-M will make an apple pie. She'll also do you some decent Yorkshire puds! Me, I'll... erm... keep an eye on the wine...

Hello Barry,

Can you let me know how many childen will be there and I will arrange for our famous chocolate brownies with cream or custard to be brought down.

I can also have them individually wrapped and boxed so that the children can take them home if they want to. What do you think?

We also have some of our children's clothes which no longer fit. They are all still in good condition, let me know if these are wanted as well, along with some childrens books and toys.

Many, many thanks to Bill & Lorraine for your very kind offer.

The clothes and the toys and books will also be very welcome - they have no qualms about accepting used items - they'll be delighted.

As for the delicious brownies, it would be great if they were individually wrapped and boxed - that then gives us a really good start for the prezzy bags.

There will be a total of 26 kids, we are told.

As for the other 60-odd mentioned by D-M, I don't think he'll really mind whether they're boxed or not
